All county precincts will hold their required off-year caucus Monday at 7 p.m. at the county courthouse. Those who arrive early can sup on free chili which will be served after 6 p.m.
A new county central committee will arise from the decisions of the seven precincts, as they choose their own members to sit on the committee. Delegates will also be selected to later conventions. In the event a June primary election fails to produce a nominee, those delegates will get to make the choice. That could certainly happen in the race for Governor.
Those who attend Monday will also be able to sign up for yard signs, door knocking, phone banks, and other "get out the vote" activity.
