County Convention March 12

The next step in choosing Iowa's delegates to the Democratic National Convention will be March 12.

We will convene at 9 AM in the Courthouse.  The convention will have 50 seats.  Clinton backers have apparently captured 33 of them at precinct caucus.  Sanders backers have won the right to 15 seats while O'Malley's people won two delegates from a precinct in Pocahontas.

Clinton's control of the Pocahontas Convention is nearly the greatest of any county.  Only two other counties--both on the Missouri border--will have a higher percentage of Clinton delegates than Pocahontas County will have.

The convention will choose three delegates to the state convention in Des Moines June 18.  It will also choose six delegates to our congressional district convention April 30.  Both of those upcoming conventions will select names to represent us in Philadelphia when the national convention opens July 25, 2016.
